WHAT WE OFFERInsulation removal

Reasons Why You May Need to Remove Your Insulation
Consider all the various locations where old insulation may need to be replaced such as your attic, crawl space, garage, and walls. Whether your home is old or new, it is always a good idea to have the quality of your insulation inspected.
Overdoing Insulation
Believe it or not, too much insulation can also be an issue. While it will keep you warm in the winter and trap cool air in the summer, having too much insulation can eventually compromise the rafters in your attic.

WHAT WE OFFERSpray Foam Insulation

Benefits of Spray Foam Insulation
Spray foam gives you the best R-value per inch (R7 per 1″ on closed-cell foam), and it acts as both an air barrier and a moisture barrier in one product. When applied, it forms a continuous barrier in the area it’s applied to (walls, roofs, floor rim joists, and corners of the home). Another great benefit of the spray foam is that is is an air sealing insulation.
How Much Does Spray Foam Insulation Cost?
The cost of spray foam runs higher than other forms of insulation, but it gives your tremendous value and pays for itself over time. Spray foam insulation has the highest R-value (R7/inch) out of all of our insulation products. It cures within one hour and can be applied in your attic, basements, crawl spaces, and garage.

Frequently Asked Questions

1
How much will I save by insulating my home?

Insulation saves money, increases home comfort, and protects the environment by reducing energy use. According to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the typical U.S. family spends close to $1,500 each year on energy bills. DOE statistics show that, typically, 44% of a homeowner’s utility bill goes for heating and cooling costs. DOE states that homeowners may be able to reduce their energy bills from 10% to 50% by taking certain steps. One of the major steps is increasing the amount of thermal insulation in their existing homes or purchasing additional insulation when buying new homes.

2
What is R-value?

R-value measures insulation’s resistance to heat flow. It can also be referred to as “thermal resistance.” The higher the R-value, the greater the insulating power. All materials having the same R-value, regardless of type, thickness, or weight, are equal in insulating power. The R-value of different insulating materials must be based on test methods established by the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM). Don’t forget that R-values are determined by material type, thickness, and installed weight per square foot, not by thickness alone. Insulation helps keep your home cool during the summer months and warm during the winter months.

3
Why hire a professional insulation contractor rather than other general contractors?

Proper installation is essential for insulation to perform properly. Knowledge of vapor retarders, air infiltration, ventilation, recessed lighting, and water pipes are just a few of the areas critical to installation techniques. Professional insulation contractors have access to a wide variety of training, are familiar with local codes and regulations, and can offer guidance about the type and amount of insulation to be used.

4
Is insulation effective at sound-proofing?

Yes. Insulation is an efficient way to reduce unwanted sound, and it is commonly used to provide a more comfortable and quieter interior environment. Insulation effectively reduces noise transmission through floors and through interior and exterior walls. A professional insulation contractor can help you select the proper insulation for your needs.

5
Spray foam insulation vs fiberglass insulation, which is better?

Fiberglass – This type of insulation traps air bubbles and creates an insulation effect that escalates, slowing heat exchange between surfaces.

Spray Foam – This is a polymer that expands to nearly 100 times its original volume, and then hardens into a solid. This allows for much more coverage and is more of an automated process than fiberglass.

Ross, Cassie, and the whole team at BVI are the absolute best. They know what they’re doing. They’re responsive and respectful. They insulated my 100+ yr old farm house and I never once felt like I couldn’t trust what they were doing. Before they worked on my house, my heater would run 5/6 times an hour when it was cold. Today, it’s cold again, but my heater has run *maybe* half a dozen times today, TOTAL. It’s like living in a Yeti. Fantastic!

I received spray foam insulation. The team that came were very efficient even though they had a lot of prep in an existing building. They completed the job in good time and helped me put all the pieces back in place. Very helpful and considerate team

In February 2022, this company applied spray foam to the attic, outer walls and under the crawl space of my 1100 sq ft home. Since June when my HVAC was installed, my monthly energy bill has averaged $75. That’s through the 105 degree heat and the first cold snap! I’m very impressed and pleased.
